Next Generation Data Centers: Transform your Storage Networking

unwiredcp2021-07-29T07:12:51+00:00

The pandemic has not only catalyzed the adoption of digital transformation but also the evolution of emerging technologies. As more and more companies and businesses start adopting new digital strategies, a tsunami of data is being produced or generated and to handle them data centers are also trying to evolve quickly.

Rapid growth in the number of smart connected devices and a huge rise in consumption of data is placing enormous amount of pressure on the underlying data center infrastructure. Data centers have become so complex, that is no longer possible for only human beings to manage this rising complexity, without impacting performance and efficiency levels. Intelligent technologies & insights can aid immensely in helping organizations improve the efficiency of their data centers in a significant manner.

‘The only way to accelerate IT delivery and keep pace with ever-increasing demands on existing infrastructure is to upgrade and automate. The infrastructure must be able to monitor application performance, identify network congestion, and prioritize bandwidth. The infrastructure also needs to isolate configuration errors or malfunctioning devices automatically, regardless of the source of the issue in the data center. This means there is a requirement for an autonomous, self -learning, self-healing and self-optimizing setup for most organizations.

If ever there was a time for data center owner-operators and their customers to embrace automation and remote management and monitoring of their infrastructure, that time is now

We present you The ET Live Webinar on Next Generation Data Centers: Transform your Storage Networking, powered by Brocade.

The Times of India Group has been playing a major role in helping business and business leaders navigate through the new normal via its digital initiative – ‘ET UnWired from the early days of the pandemic and through this new effort will try to simplify the way companies manage their infrastructure and operations as businesses try to improve data center efficiency, optimize application performance and offer better experience to their customers.

Targeting IT – OT Transformation for Operational Excellence in Manufacturing

unwiredcp2021-07-23T12:46:57+00:00

As the Indian economy starts its journey to achieving fiscal health, the manufacturing sector that contributes to more than 14.5% of the country’s GDP, has been adopting digital technologies to implement its Industry 4.0 strategy in order to expand its markets and bring down time to markets.

The sector, which is expected to create 100 million new jobs by next year and reach a value of $1 trillion by 2025, has identified data as a critical asset and now IT professionals are posed with challenges of ensuring free and fast flow of accurate information in order to generate business advantages.

And the network, which has grown by leaps and bounds for these large enterprises, is the biggest cog in ensuring that data and information are flowing without congestion and in a secured manner.

Problems like network congestion, latency, brownouts and long lead times to activate new services all degrade end-user experience or customer experience bringing down the brand of an enterprise forcing them to look for options. According to one 2019 study, 60% of network problems are discovered first by end users or not reported at all. And 95% of customers who’ve had a bad service experience don’t even bother to complain; they simply walk away.

On the other hand, in terms of internal operations, the network edge is fast becoming a source of rich data that, properly harnessed, can generate insights to improve operations, boost system availability, lower costs, and improve safety.

Join us at The Economic Times & Juniper Networks present The Intelligent Enterprise webinar, under the theme of – “Targeting IT – OT transformation for operational excellence in Manufacturing”, to unlock the full potential of your organisation and secure your information highway across all locations from the data center to the campus thereby increasing productivity or efficiency.

Building Nextgen Networks for Resiliency in Pharma

unwiredcp2021-07-16T05:10:26+00:00

Just as health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind and spirit, modern-day healthcare organisations and pharma companies are also dependent on execution based on very subtle and sophisticated links.

There is no longer a notion of the “family doctor” or the “town emergency room,” but rather a web of primary and secondary care that has grown to include first responders, paramedics, emergency room physicians, operating room staff, laboratories, rehabilitation clinics, and much more. Similarly, drug trials are not typically located in a single facility but are instead conducted in multiple sites across the globe to ensure a true random sampling.

So, the ask or need is to be connected at all times and the network should act as the lifeblood for these organisations ensuring that accurate information flows from the brain to any other organ and back. Foundationally, it must be reliable and secure ensuring assured experiences for all users, devices, and critical medical applications. And it can be transformational if it has artificial intelligence built-in to support heavier traffic as and when needed.

Additionally, in the age of hyper personalisation and immediacy of services, the network must be personalized for individuals (guest and staff likewise) based on their ever-changing needs and locations.

On the other hand, with more locations and users accessing new services with new devices, the threat vector has exponentially increased adding to the security and compliance risks inherent in healthcare due to sensitive data such as patient tracking. The network itself could be the basis of such treats as more organisations today require WiFi or RFID access for collecting data through telemetry.

Join us at The Economic Times & Juniper Networks present The Intelligent Enterprise webinar, under the theme of – “Building Nextgen Networks for Resiliency in Pharma”, to unlock the full potential of your health or pharma organisation and secure your information highway across all locations from the data center to the campus, and from the local clinic to the remote specialist.

Making Safer Internet in a Cloud-First, Anywhere Operations and Internet-first era

unwiredcp2021-07-13T11:34:55+00:00

Today, businesses have the need to build an infrastructure that is agile to support customers globally, flexible to enable their employees work efficiently from remote locations and diverse across geographies to support distributed deployments. To enable this new reality, organizations are increasingly moving their apps (both existing and new) to a mix of public and private clouds with an internet-first approach, eventually landing into multi cloud architectures.

The network architectures have inverted with majority users, data, applications, and traffic now residing outside the corporate perimeter. The older approach of backhauling traffic to office VPN before breaking out is both inefficient and costly. Though Internet has become more reliable, it doesn’t offer assured SLAs, required performance for the use cases and visibility.

Against this backdrop, breaches can now happen anywhere starting from devices, applications, users or at Clouds. CIOs and Chief information security officers (CISOs) need to adapt rapidly to envisage the security posture and network architecture against this scenario and recalibrate their security strategies to make use of internet safe for all stakeholders.

They should consider adopting a layered approach towards network security, to create a wider coverage against variety of security threats. Solutions such as Secure Web Gateway should be considered to enforce company security policies and filters malicious internet traffic in real-time. In addition, they should consider expanding the use DDoS detection programs that will help detect and mitigate attacks that would disrupt the business.

There is a chance that not all organizations will have the right set of resources to be able to handle today’s network and security needs. The right MSSP can help organizations offload most of these network performance and security responsibilities.

Join the ET Live Webinar Session around Making Safer Internet in a Cloud-First, Anywhere Operations and Internet-first era, powered by Tata Communications to learn how organizations can deploy the right set of network with required performance, right set of security technologies and controls, manage security operations – setting up end to end security and management and also investigate and remediate any security incidents efficiently and cost effectively.

Building a dynamic and sustainable Digital Enterprise

unwiredcp2021-08-13T04:38:34+00:00

SUSTAINING THE PACE OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

“Every industry and every organization will have to transform itself in the next few years. What is coming at us is bigger than the original internet and you need to understand it, get on board with it and figure out how to transform your business.” – Tim O’Reilly, Founder and CEO, O’Reilly Media.

Digital transformation clearly is an evolution than a revolution and it continues to be a critical mission in the IT decision maker’s charter. However, it is unique to each company and there is not a standard strategy or practice to adopt and perhaps that is why many digital transformations fail. As per a BCG study, only 30% of Digital Transformations are successful.

It is not 100% sure that a digital transformation strategy would work, maybe a part of it will work or maybe none of it. We need to make sure before we even start planning about the transformation. There are different ways of doing this one such way is mentioned below.

In today’s dynamic world, digitization is not only a responsible move, but a necessary one to attract new business and remain competitive, hence it becomes critical that organizations manage a balance between agility and sustainable IT infra which can stand the test of time.

The ET Live Panel Discussion will also cover a sustainable digital transformation approach. This includes, understanding the current state of the enterprise and changing with the right transformation strategy that accounts for people, processes, and technologies, enabling a managed digital estate across SDWAN & network, collaboration, hybrid multi-cloud architectures, and connected security from cloud to edge.

Discussion Areas:

  • Transformation objectives and benefits
  • Scope of transformation effort
  • IT foundation to support the transformation
