Leveraging Tech To Empower Workforce And Customers By Utilizing Knowledge Management

unwiredcp2022-04-06T06:30:51+00:00

“Technology is best when it brings people together.” – Matt Mullenweg, American Entrepreneur.

We have witnessed several technological advancements in businesses in the past couple of months. The emerging work culture is to work from any place, and in order to do so efficiently, we need more integrated and up-to-date ways of communication.

As a result of this shift, companies must now deal with massive amounts of data as well as the content. In these times, managing knowledge and ensuring that the proper set of information reaches the right person is critical. Many firms prioritise enabling remote employees to have quick and safe access to relevant insights.

A slew of new technologies promises to make data-sharing among and within businesses easier while keeping the veil of anonymity intact. As customers grow more digitally savvy, it will aid in the development of the workforce, opening up new options and empowering them to better serve customers.

According to Gartner, organizations that support data sharing will outperform their counterparts on most business value measures by 2023.

In light of current compliance standards, a highly regulated industry like the BFSI must engage in understanding new and creative technologies and tools such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud. While these technologies are game-changers that provide numerous benefits to a company, a company must be able to utilise the proper technology right now.

It’s time we figure out which tools and technologies would work best for our company and how we can use these resources to empower our employees.

Join the Economic Times Session Around Leveraging tech to empower workforce and customers by utilizing knowledge management, powered by Verint as it will touch upon some important points such as –

  • Enhancing the way knowledge is created, managed and maintained
  • Providing remote employees with a robust knowledge base
  • Improving the accuracy and efficiency of employee interactions to build customer loyalty
  • Harnessing the power of AI and cloud in customer engagement strategy

The Role of Talent in Enabling Business Transformation, Innovation and Excellence in GCCs

unwiredcp2021-12-22T06:18:19+00:00

As of FY 2020, India was home to over 1300+ Global Capability Centre (GCC) organizations, employing more than 1.3 million and contributing US$33.8 billion in gross revenue (NASSCOM 2021). This accounts for more than 45 per cent of the GCCs in the world.  India is one of the preferred GCC destinations due to the presence of a unique ecosystem, including academic community, start-ups, access to talent, and support from the government.

Having started for cost arbitrage, today they have blossomed into technology hubs, helping drive the transformation agendas of their respective parent organizations. They conceptualize new products and services based on evolving market needs.  And these innovations leverage cutting edge solutions to business challenges and digitalization using emerging digital technologies. Clearly, the work that is being done by the GCCs here, in India, is impacting global business in radical ways, and provides strategic advantages.

An unequivocal differentiator for the GCCs is talent. And developing and nurturing talent is and will continue to be one of the critical challenges GCCs face, as they plan to transform. As GCCs aspire to become “business partners” in shaping the overall organisational strategy itself, digital transformation and process innovation are the key levers to master.  Digital skills for the entire workforce along with full stack development, software engineering, cloud, analytics, AI and ML are clear priorities for the GCCs.  GCCs in India is clearly poised for greater growth. It is expected that India will have over 1900 GCCs with employment of more than 2 million people by 2025.

04:20 – 05:20 PM Panel Discussion: The Role of Talent in Enabling Business Transformation, Innovation and Excellence in GCCs

To deal with fast paced organizations, GCCs have been continuously contributing to talent building by investing in leadership development, thus empowering people with great career opportunities. With growing competition coupled with continuous changes in the technology landscape, GCCs have to clearly focus on talent imperatives to meet the transformation agenda.

In this session, here is what we will focus on:

  • Can you tell us one or two innovations in terms of product/processes in the last few years that have been done here in India that have helped your organization?
  • To have done this, talent clearly is an unequivocal differentiator. What kind of talent (behaviours/mindsets) has really helped bring about this strategic advantage?
  • It is clear that developing and nurturing talent is and will continue to be one of the critical challenges GCCs face, as they plan to transform. What are some of the specific talent imperatives (digital skilling areas and leadership competencies) needed for the transformation agenda?
  • Middle level management is critical and what is being done to hone their leadership abilities? how are they being trained and empowered to bring in new value streams to the organization?
  • What more would be required in addition to what is already being done in reskilling and upskilling talent?

The COVID-19 pandemic has reinforced the motto of ‘people, planet and profit’ with investors putting their bets on companies with high ESG scores. It has been instrumental in reinforcing the importance of ESG framework as a key approach to long-term business resilience, says the EY report ‘Can ESG help future proof your business’.

COVID has ensured there is greater focus on ESG – US data shows a record $27.7 billion flew into ESG ETFs in 2020, more than three times the previous year. Globally, trillions are flowing into sustainable funds, with ESG funds surpassing $1 trillion in assets, in 2020

Countries across the world have displayed strong leadership in the growing worldwide environmental movement. A successful transition to a sustainable future will depend on international collaboration and transformations across multiple sectors. A series of efforts have been taken by the Indian Government, one of which requires spend of 2% of average net profits by India Inc. (certain eligible companies) towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities in eligible areas.

Talking about Mobility industry, it is understood that future of mobility should be free of emissions. It requires a holistic approach to decarbonization: from production through service life to recycling. E-mobility already enables a significant reduction in CO2 emissions in road traffic. According to a new study, electric cars could become carbon neutral by 2050 – but if zero carbon mobility is ever to become reality, policy makers need to make a few key important changes.

On the way to achieving this, we need diverse tools and technologies that offer more performance in combination with reduced consumption. The question here is “Is the electric car really more climate-friendly than a new car with a modern combustion engine?”

Need of the Hour

“Energy transition” are the words of discussion over the past few years. It is seen that the transition to lower and zero-carbon energy sources should be accelerated to mitigate the impact of global warming. In the current situation the need of the hour is focus on global interconnectivity and step towards more collaborations and partnerships.

The industrial sector (refining, petrochemicals, fertilizers, cement and steel production) together generates about 21% of GHG emissions. At present, only 15% of industrial energy use is derived from electricity. With energy efficiency and the use of green electricity, companies can systematically reduce CO2 emissions in production. A meaningful carbon footprint requires robust data, methods and independent verification.

Way to Bold Solutions

Globally businesses, cities, regions, investors are working towards building a healthy, resilient, zero carbon recovery that prevents future threats, creates decent jobs, and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth. The objective is to build momentum around the shift to a decarbonized economy.

A key factor in achieving carbon-neutral e-mobility is to be able to charge vehicles consistently with electricity generated entirely from renewable sources. This alone would reduce CO2 emissions by almost half compared with the standard EU electricity mix

The upcoming webinar “Carbon Neutral e-mobility: Way to Zero plan” will feature a panel of renowned business leaders from different sectors to explore how companies can identify and build the right value for their business with economic restructuring and way to zero plan. The round table discussions will analyze all the enablers and growth opportunities, along with potential challenges with regards to EV adoption and expansion in India. It will bring the ‘who’s who’ of the industry under one roof to brainstorm on the tactic issues to push the sector towards a higher growth path.
