Mr. Manoj Sharma brings with him an experience of over 3 decades working in Corporates having Multi-Unit-Location level pan India in Strategic HR, Organizational & People Development, IR & Governance, World Class Manufacturing (Quality Systems), CSR, Corporate Communication (inc. Branding) & Environment Mgt. He is Graduate in Economics & Public Administration from Punjab University and holds two Post Graduate diplomas in PGDIR&PM, Rajendra Prasad Institute of Management, Mumbai and ISTD, New Delhi. He has continued his professional studies and holds North Star Leadership – a prestigious one-year executive program from Harvard Publishing, USA and is currently pursuing Fellowship from Academy of HRD, Ahmedabad.
His rich experience spans across multinational & national businesses like, Pharmaceuticals; Starch & Chemicals; Distillery & Bottling; Textiles: Yarn & fabric manufacturing; Aluminum – non-ferrous metal & Captive Power; Graphite & Power; Packaging Business, Cold Rolling, Infra, Mining, Thermal Power, Transmission, Renewable Energy & Solar Manufacturing. Adani Group forayed into Electricity distribution business and had acquired Rinfra’s GTD business at Mumbai. Presently he heads the same business m/s Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd., as Sr Executive Vice President & Head – HR since Sept 2018 having strategic responsibility of steering the company’s post acquisition transformational people practices.
What makes him distinct among fellow HR fraternity is being HR Business Partner he brought up Adani’s largest thermal power plants in India, Largest Solar PV Module Manufacturing facilities at Mundra and largest multi-location Renewable Energy generation plants PAN India with varied HR/Business Operating models and now actively involved in the integration process of post-acquisition of Adani Electricity business in Mumbai with 12000 plus employees.
Mr Sharma feels humbled even after receiving many recognitions and awards at various professional forums. He is a Recipient of Transformational Leadership award from National HRD Network, Nagpur in 2011; Conferred Gold Award in Training Excellence in Behavioral & Technical Training in 4th Annual Greentech HR Award 2014 for Adani Power. Under his leadership, company won 05 top awards in unique business communication for Adani in Oct 2016, by ABCI, Mumbai. He distinctly appeared in 100 top CHROs of India in April 2018 and was conferred leadership award by Global Achievers forum in Mumbai. He was nominated for 101 Top HR Minds – 2019 by HRD Congress in India.
Mr Sharma’s dedication and passion in HR has positioned Adani Power in Great Place to work among top 100 club companies in India, in first attempt itself.
His research article on “The Changing Role of the Human Resource Professional in the Asia Pacific Region” was published in book in Australia with a forward of Dave Ulrich, University of Michigan, USA. His contribution in writing many articles on contemporary themes in HR sets him apart among many in the country and poses him as a role model for many budding professionals. He had been the Chief Editor of business magazine HRishta by IIMT Studies, which was launched with the forward of Mr Narendra Modi the then CM of Gujarat, in 2013.
As a professional contribution at the highest level of the country’s apex body in skill development, he feels proud to be a Member of Governing Council of Power Sector Skill Council (NSDL- Govt of India), since 2014.
As a passion to contribute for the professional upliftment of HR fraternity, he has nurtured different chapters of National HRD Network at incipience stage at Lucknow as Joint Secretary, Bhopal as a Promoter Patron and Nagpur as a President. As a responsible social citizen, he has led the NGO as Executive Director on the board of M/S Liv Life International Organization.
