Times Group Think Tank — Mobility at Scale: Building Resilient Vehicle & Equipment Supply Networks

unwiredcp2025-09-18T03:55:34+00:00

India’s vehicle market is climbing fast — from 5.16 million units in 2024 to an estimated 8.36 million by 2030, a 7.3% CAGR (Grand View Research). That growth isn’t just more cars; it’s more complexity and procurement pressure across the supply chain.

EVs make it even more urgent. India targets 30% of passenger vehicle sales to be electric by 2030, with registrations already around 2.08 million units in 2024 (NITI Aayog; S&P Global). Batteries, power electronics, BMS and semiconductor-heavy assemblies have shifted from optional to critical sourcing challenges.

Auto component investment is surging — ₹25,000–30,000 crore (US$2.9–3.5B) expected by FY26, focused on localisation and EV-specific parts (IBEF). Meanwhile, chip content per car is projected to jump 40%, from about US$1,000 today to over US$1,400 by 2030; for EVs, US$1,500–3,000

(PatentPC). Semiconductors are the new choke point, forcing leaders to rethink inventory, dual sourcing and long-lead procurement.

Heavy equipment is another demand driver. India’s construction equipment market is set to grow

from US$6.6B in 2022 to US$10.1B by 2030 (Grand View Research; India Briefing). This builds domestic supplier ecosystems ready for export.

Put simply: higher volumes, deeper chip content, EV localisation, booming heavy equipment and AI- led supply intelligence all point one way. CXOs need to rewire supply strategies now — or risk margin hits and delivery shocks later.

This Exclusive Times Group Think Tank Discussion, powered by TTI (a Berkshire Hathaway

company), Mouser Electronics, and Ray-Q, will bring together decision-makers and transformation leaders shaping India’s automotive, mobility and heavy equipment future for a closed-door, high- impact discussion on these critical imperatives.

Discussion Arcs

  • Key growth imperatives, challenges, and opportunities in building India’s emerging supply chain ecosystem.
  • Strategies for creating a more resilient and sustainable supply chain that adapts to changing market conditions and meets customer needs.
  • How new technologies, shifting business models, and evolving customer expectations are shaping the future of supply chains?
  • The value of partnering with trusted allies to ensure component authenticity, reliability and uninterrupted supply.

Who Should Attend

The discussion will convene decision-makers and transformation leaders shaping India’s automotive and mobility future, including:

  • Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs)
  • Chief Supply Chain Officers (CSCOs)
  • Senior VPs, VPs, and AVPs of SCM, Sourcing, and Logistics

    unwiredcp2025-09-11T07:33:37+00:00

India’s defence and aerospace sector is entering a decisive phase. With production crossing ₹1.27 lakh crore and exports hitting record highs, the nation is moving from an import-reliant model to becoming a global hub for design and manufacturing. At the core of this leap lies electronics and

semiconductors—the backbone of avionics, radars, EW systems, secure communications and next- gen weapon platforms. (IBEF, Observer Research Foundation, AIAI India, Modern Manufacturing India)

Yet, global semiconductor backlogs, supply chain bottlenecks, and evolving tech standards pose strategic risks. To sustain India’s growth trajectory and strengthen self-reliance, industry leaders, policymakers and OEMs must collaborate on sourcing strategies, technology roadmaps, and resilient supply ecosystems.

Think Tank Discussion: The Open-Source Shift-25-June

    unwiredcp2025-06-23T13:41:26+00:00

    25th June, 2025 | New Delhi

Unlock ing Strategic Business Value Through Open-Source Migrations

As enterprises navigate complex digital transformation journeys, several pressing challenges continue to surface:

    • Rising costs of proprietary software and infrastructure are squeezing IT budgets and limiting scalability.
    • Vendor lock-in is hindering innovation, reducing flexibility, and slowing down modernization efforts.
    • Legacy systems are becoming increasingly incompatible with evolving security, performance, and compliance requirements.
    • Sustainability mandates and ESG expectations are pushing enterprises to rethink their tech choices.
    • Innovation bottlenecks are emerging due to closed ecosystems and long dependency chains.

These challenges are no longer just technical, they impact business agility, operational efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.

There is a growing demand among CIOs, CTOs, and IT leaders to overcome the limitations posed by legacy systems. As organizations seek to reduce total cost of ownership without compromising performance, align their IT infrastructure with sustainability goals, foster agility and autonomy, and enable innovation at scale, open-source platforms like Linux and PostgreSQL are increasingly being recognized as more than just alternatives—they are becoming strategic infrastructure choices that directly address these evolving enterprise needs.

In response to this shift, this offers a strategic and collaborative platform for technology leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue. The discussion will focus on understanding the long-term business value of open-source migrations, learning from real-world success stories and proven frameworks, and exploring how open source contributes to ESG mandates. Participants will also gain valuable insights into how open-source adoption aligns with the ARAG framework—promoting Agility, Resilience, Autonomy, and Growth—while also networking with peers and industry experts tackling similar transformation challenges.

Ultimately, the roundtable aims to deliver strategic clarity, peer-driven learning, and actionable takeaways for IT decision-makers looking to modernize their infrastructure, reduce operational costs, and remain future-ready through the power of open-source innovation.
